Report: Redskins will release Robert Griffin III
The Washington Redskins saw their 2015 season end in disappointing fashion on Sunday, and they are expected to begin preparing for next year by releasing Robert Griffin III.
According to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, it was important to Redskins owner Daniel Snyder that RG3 remain on the roster for the entire season.
With the #Redskins season over, they'll release RGIII. Just a matter of timing. Was important to owner Dan Snyder he be on the team all year

Why did Snyder insist upon keeping Griffin? We have no idea. Perhaps he was holding out hope that RG3 would contribute in the event that Kirk Cousins got injured, and Washington’s No. 2 overall pick from 2012 wouldn’t look quite as useless.
Reports indicate that RG3 is hoping to play for one team in particular, but he might not have a ton of offers. The one thing we will say about Griffin is that he may have helped his stock by remaining quiet all season and not becoming a distraction. RG3 is only 25. It would be crazy to not give him another chance.
