Patrick Peterson reportedly has requested a trade from the Arizona Cardinals, and the New York Jets apparently did their due diligence on the matter.
The New York Daily News’ Manish Mehta reported on Tuesday that the Jets made a trade inquiry about Peterson, but it sounds like they were rebuffed.
Cardinals did field an inquiry from #Jets about perennial Pro Bowl cornerback Patrick Peterson, I’m told.

The Arizona Cardinals are 1-6 and going nowhere, but they reportedly have resisted trading Peterson. They know he’s a shutdown corner and probably figure the 28-year-old can still give them at least a few more good years.
If Arizona does decide to part ways with Peterson, there will be several interested teams. Peterson is under contract through 2020.
