The trade chatter surrounding Tyreek Hill returned almost immediately in Week 1, and one reporter believes at least two notable suitors would emerge if the Miami Dolphins were to decide they want to move the star wide receiver.
Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk wrote on Monday that he views the Kansas City Chiefs and Pittsburgh Steelers as two teams to watch for Hill should the Dolphins continue to struggle.
The Chiefs, who traded Hill to Miami ahead of the 2022 season, have a need for a playmaker with Rashee Rice suspended for the first six games of the season. Travis Kelce has also showed some signs of slowing down, and second-year speedster Xavier Worthy is banged up after he suffered a shoulder injury in Week 1.
Hill has suggested in the past that he never wanted to leave Kansas City, so he might be open to a return.
Florio also says there has been talk that the Steelers “could go even more all-in” by trying to acquire Hill following their impressive Week 1 win over the New York Jets. Aaron Rodgers looked as good as he has in years during the 34-32 victory over his former team, finishing 22/30 for 244 yards, 4 touchdowns and no interceptions.
The Steelers acquired D.K. Metcalf in a big trade during the offseason, but they also traded George Pickens to the Dallas Cowboys. They have a need for a clear-cut No. 2 wide receiver, and Hill could potentially fill that role for them.
The Dolphins were blown out 33-8 by the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday. Tua Tagovailoa had an interception and a fumble early on, and Hill was shown looking angry on the sideline. That led to fans all making the same joke about the former All-Pro.
For now, the Dolphins are reportedly planning to keep Hill. Head coach Mike McDaniel is not hitting the panic button after one game, but Hill has a history of openly expressing frustration with the team.
