Richard Sherman would not put it past Marshawn Lynch to play in 2016

Marshawn Lynch

Marshawn Lynch isn’t even doing anything and he’s keeping everyone on their toes.

Richard Sherman is the latest of Lynch’s former Seahawks teammates to weigh in on his future, and he doesn’t sound so sure that we won’t be seeing the running back on the field again sooner rather than later.

“I don’t put anything past him,” Sherman told NFL Media’s Michael Robinson at a Virginia football camp on Saturday. “He’s about as predictable as a pair of dice. So I don’t try to call his plays. But obviously, it’s going to be different. We got a little sample of it last year. I think we’re prepared for it in some aspects, but you really never want to be prepared for that. You really would hope he comes back. In the back of your mind, you hope he comes back and plays another year.”

It sounds like Sherman is hopeful, but not optimistic. Another Seahawks player wouldn’t rule out a Lynch return, but made 2016 sound unlikely. That seems to be the prevailing thinking. Though hey, Lynch’s jersey number is open for him if he wants it.
