Rob Gronkowski calls out Cowboys for stealing ‘Do Your Job’ slogan

Rob-Gronkowski

The Dallas Cowboys have a new mantra plastered on their locker room wall this year, and Rob Gronkowski is not the first person to notice that it looks awfully familiar.

During the New England Patriots’ Super Bowl run two years ago, the phrase “Do Your Job” became the official rallying cry of the team. Bill Belichick wanted to emphasize that his players stop worrying about outside noise and focus on what they need to do to help the team win. Earlier this week, ESPN’s Darren Rovell noticed that the same phrase is written on the wall in the Cowboys’ new training camp facility.

Gronk no seem happy:

Hey, it worked for the Patriots, right? You can’t blame the Cowboys for giving it a shot.

While Belichick obviously isn’t the first coach to utter the phrase “do your job” when talking to his players, the Patriots do currently have three trademarks on the slogan. Heck, even the NFL Films documentary about their championship season was called “Do Your Job.”

What does all this mean? Nothing, really. The Cowboys probably can’t go selling “Do Your Job” merchandise, and we’re certain Belichick has bigger things to worry about than an NFC team being unoriginal. If you want to ask the Pats coach about it, you can fully expect to get a reaction that is exactly like this one.
