Robert Griffin III sends fans thank you note for their wedding gift (Picture)
Robert Griffin III and his fiancee Rebecca Liddicoat are getting married this summer, and the couple’s wedding registry has been made public through Bed Bath and Beyond. As you might expect, this has led to diehard RG3 fans purchasing gifts for him. It has also led to others thinking it’s insane that a millionaire like Griffin has fans sending him wedding gifts.
At least RG3 is acknowledging the kind gestures. One couple, Keith and Emily Elgin, shared the photo you see above on Twitter of a hand-written thank you note that Griffin sent them. According to Dan Steinberg of DC Sports Bog, the Elgins bought RG3 and Liddicoat a welcome mat.
RG3 also tweeted at Keith Elgin, who is a musician, earlier this week to encourage him to keep making music.

Many people feel that it’s ridiculous for fans to send gifts to Griffin rather than donating to a local charity, but people can spend their money however they’d like. As we learned from the Halloween gifts he gave out to trick-or-treaters, RG3 is a pretty generous guy. If he goes on to enjoy a successful NFL career, his autograph will probably be worth a lot more than that welcome mat.
