Robert Griffin III roasted on Twitter over new haircut

December 6, 2018 by Steve DelVecchio • Comments

It has been more than a year since Robert Griffin III decided to chop off the long locks that helped define his look when he was a star at Baylor and after he entered the NFL. If you thought the quarterback created a buzz when he made that big change, just wait until you see what people think of his new haircut.

The folks at Busted Coverage shared a photo on Twitter of what is supposedly the Christmas card RG3 and his wife Greite Sadeiko sent out this year. Griffin is sporting a somewhat new look in it:

To put it lightly, Twitter cannot get enough of RG3’s new haircut. The jokes and memes have been downright ruthless. Here is a sampling:

Interestingly enough, the topic of RG3’s hair came up when he appeared on “The TomaHawk Show” podcast this week with his former Cleveland Browns teammates Joe Thomas and Andrew Hawkins. Griffin explained why he chose to cut his hair when he signed with the Baltimore Ravens.

“The number change and the haircut was symbolism to me that at this point in my life, at this point in my career, it was time to start over,” he said. “It doesn’t mean that I want people to forget the player I was in 2012 and 2013. It’s just, for me, to say I’m a better player now and a new player now, so I don’t have to hold onto those old things because the future’s gonna be bright.”

We have yet to hear his explanation for the latest look, but we know people didn’t react this way when he first chopped the braids off.
