Roddy White will not give fan season tickets because ‘it’s illegal to gamble in the NFL’
Roddy White is a huge Duke fan, and like most others he was extremely confident that the Blue Devils would get past Mercer in their first game of the NCAA Tournament. We all know what happened in that game, and those of you who don’t can watch this Mercer player dance to refresh your memory.
Prior to the game, White responded to a Twitter follower who told him Mercer was going to beat Duke. He said he would give the Chicago Bears fan season tickets in the first row at the 50-yard-line if Duke lost. White said a few days later that he would give the guy tickets to the Bears game instead.
I lost a bet and I will give him tickets to the bears game since he is a bears fan done with this bet

He hasn’t stopped hearing about it since. Fans want to see White follow through with his promise. His excuse for not doing so is incredibly lame.
Y'all people are crazy on twitter you want me to man up and pay a bet to a person that had nothing to lose in the bet #soundsridicules

Plus it's illegal to gamble in the NFL

First of all, those two tweets contradict each other. If the fan had nothing to lose, it wasn’t a bet. It was simply White telling him he would give him tickets if Duke lost. Arian Foster gave away free tickets to a fan who completed a task on Twitter a couple years ago, and there was nothing illegal about that. The fan has been a great sport about the whole thing.
I don't expect anything from @roddywhiteTV because it wasn't even a legit bet. I do not want to be a distraction to The Falcons organization

White’s cockiness got him into trouble. He thought there was no way Duke would lose, and thus no way he would have to give someone free tickets in one of the best seats in the house. Gambling has nothing to do with it.
