It sounds like Ryan Fitzpatrick and the New York Jets are nowhere close to a compromise.
According to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, the two sides are not expected to have a deal before the NFL Draft starts on April 28.

The Jets don’t pick until No. 20, so any quarterbacks they may choose to target will have to come outside of the top tier. They will, however, have some options.
The fact is, the Jets don’t want to pay Fitzpatrick starter money. They are also in the position of strength here. There hasn’t been much linking Fitzpatrick with any other teams apart from some links to Denver that have quieted over the last month, so he may end up in a Jets or bust situation pretty soon. New York seems prepared to wait it out, though they’ve been linked to some other available quarterbacks in the meantime.
