The Miami Dolphins were awful on Thursday night, and quarterback Ryan Tannehill is well aware of it.
The team gained just 222 yards against the Cincinnati Bengals and failed to score after an opening drive touchdown.
“One of the worst performances I’ve seen from our offense in a long time,” Tannehill assessed, via Curtis Crabtree of ProFootballTalk. “We have to get it fixed soon and by soon, I mean Monday. It’s gone on too long. There’s no more excuses, no more waiting, it’s got to be important to everyone who steps on that field and we have to get it fixed right now.”
Maybe Tannehill is part of the problem. One of his former teammates has bluntly assessed him during the offseason, and if this is really what he is, the Dolphins have to be wondering if this is really a long-term solution. His inconsistency is getting maddening, and the Dolphins are stuck in neutral because of it.
