Sammy Watkins reportedly agrees to deal with Chiefs

Sammy Watkins

The Kansas City Chiefs may have the best offense in the NFL at the start of the 2018 season, at least on paper.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, star wide receiver Sammy Watkins plans to sign with the Chiefs when free agency officially opens on Wednesday.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the deal will be worth $16 million per year over three seasons. That places Watkins among the highest-paid receivers in the game.

With the addition of Watkins, the Chiefs have now given second-year quarterback Patrick Mahomes a handful of dangerous weapons to work with. Watkins will join Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelce and Kareem Hunt in what has the potential to be one of the most explosive offenses in the NFL.
