Saquon Barkley receives big promise from Giants
Saquon Barkley’s name keeps coming up in trade rumors as the New York Giants struggle this season, but he got a pretty big public promise from his head coach on Wednesday.
Giants coach Brian Daboll said Wednesday that Barkley would definitely still be a Giant after the Oct. 31 trade deadline. He added that he had relayed the same message to Barkley privately last week, and told the running back directly that no trade was coming.

The Giants are 2-5 and Barkley is playing on the franchise tag, which was enough to spark a lot of speculation about his future. The running back has said he wants to remain with the team, and the feeling appears to be mutual.
The 26-year-old running back has been slowed by injuries this season, but is still averaging 71 yards per game in four appearances in 2023. His long-term future with the organization remains unclear, but the team seems to have given its word for the rest of the year.
