Despite an offseason full of trade rumors involving Richard Sherman, it appears the cornerback may end up remaining in Seattle.
Seahawks GM John Schneider was on 710 ESPN Seattle Thursday and said the odds did not look very good for Sherman to be dealt.
“Right now, I don’t think the odds are very good (of a trade),” Schneider said, via the Seattle Times. “But if someone comes cruising along and something happens and we do something, it happens.’’
This shouldn’t come as a huge surprise.
Seattle reportedly has a high price tag on Sherman. They reportedly are seeking a first and mid-round pick in exchange for the Pro Bowl CB. The latest word was that no team was close to meeting their asking price for Sherman, though it’s possible something will change around the draft.
Schneider probably doesn’t feel like he’s losing leverage by sharing this information because he may not be highly motivated to deal the cornerback. After all, a report said it was Sherman who approached Seattle seeking a trade.
