Seattle Seahawks star DeMarcus Lawrence threw shade at the Dallas Cowboys last offseason that stings even worse after Sunday’s Super Bowl result at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif.
Lawrence played a key role in the Seahawks’ dominant defensive showing in a 29-13 win over the New England Patriots. Seattle’s defense held New England scoreless through three quarters, only allowing a couple of fourth-quarter touchdowns after the Seahawks had already built up a double-digit lead.
In his first year with the Seahawks, Lawrence became a Super Bowl champion. After the game, several fans revived Lawrence’s quote from when he first joined the Seahawks after leaving the Cowboys.
“Dallas is my home,” Lawrence said of leaving the Cowboys for the Seahawks last March.
“Made my home there. My family lives there. I’m forever going to be there, but I know for sure I’m not gonna win a Super Bowl there.”

Lawrence spent the first 11 years of his NFL career in Dallas. He earned four Pro Bowl nods and became a widely respected defensive end while rocking the blue and white star. But as Cowboys fans all know, the team never got anywhere close to winning a Super Bowl during Lawrence’s time there.
Some took Lawrence’s words as a verbal shot against his former employer, even pushing him into an online beef with, ironically, Micah Parsons. But Lawrence clearly has a lot of love for Dallas and was simply speaking his truth after over a decade with the team.
It took all of one season away from the Cowboys organization for Lawrence to finally break through with a Super Bowl victory.
