The Seattle Seahawks are the No. 1 seed in the NFC and begin their playoff run with a home game against the No. 5 San Francisco 49ers.

Unfortunately, there is some concern about quarterback Sam Darnold. On Thursday, Darnold was on the Seahawks injury report due to an oblique, which is a new development for the starting signal-caller.

Seahawks game statuses:

Out — Josh Jones (knee)

Questionable — Sam Darnold (oblique)

Everyone else is good to go. Mike Macdonald will speak to us tomorrow.

Darnold is listed as questionable with the oblique injury, raising some concern about his status for the game.

After practice, Darnold said he “felt something” in his oblique and he “didn’t want to push it,” while adding that he should be ready to go on Saturday.

Sam Darnold explains how he injured his oblique on his left side today in #Seahawks practice and then shut it down.

I asked him what % of him thinks he won’t play Saturday in playoffs vs 49ers.

He says almost zero %.

Darnold said it is a “closer to zero” percentage about him not being able to play in the Divisional Round game on Saturday.

Darnold is in his first year with the Seahawks after he signed a three-year deal worth $100.5 million in free agency. Entering the playoffs, Darnold has thrown for 4,048 yards with 25 touchdowns and 14 interceptions and has been a big part of the success of the team’s offense.

If he can’t go, Drew Lock figures to be the starter, but there should be some clarity over the next 48 hours before the 49ers-Seahawks game on Saturday night in Seattle.
