Report: Sean Payton would be ‘very interested’ in Giants job
Tom Coughlin might be coaching his last game with the New York Giants on Sunday, and another Super Bowl-winning coach could have interest in replacing him.
Jason La Canfora of CBSSports.com reports that New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton would be “very interested” in the Giants job if it became available.
If Tom Coughlin does retire as many expect, Sea Payton would be very interested. Not sure I see Giants trading for a coach, but strong ties

Many are expecting Coughlin, who has coached in New York since 2004 and led the Giants to two Super Bowl championships, to resign on Monday.
New Orleans appears to be entering a rebuilding phase with Drew Brees set to turn 37 and in need of a serious contract restructure. If the Saints allow other teams to contact Payton, the list will be quite distinguished. As La Canfora notes, the Saints would undoubtedly want compensation for Payton, who is under contract through 2017. That could complicate things.
There have also been reports that Payton is interested in coaching a west coast team. Expect the rumors to continue to pile up as the season comes to a close.
