Sebastian Janikowski retiring from NFL after lengthy career

Sebastian Janikowski is finally hanging up his cleats.

The veteran kicker says he will be retiring after 18 seasons in the NFL, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. He plans to spend time with his family.

Janikowski was drafted in the first round by the Oakland Raiders in 2000 and played with them for 17 seasons. He spent last year with the Seattle Seahawks.

For his career, Janikowski made 80.4 percent of his kicks and 98.5 percent of his extra points. He is 9th all time in field goals made (436) and 11th all time in extra points made (605). He was known for his big leg and counts a 63-yard field goal among his most impressive career feats.
