Steelers’ Damontae Kazee ejected for huge hit on Michael Pittman Jr.
Pittsburgh Steelers defensive back Damontae Kazee was ejected from Saturday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts over a hit that knocked wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. out of the game.
Kazee was ejected as he and Pittman collided while in pursuit of a Gardner Minshew pass. Officials deemed the play to be a helmet-to-helmet hit.

Kazee may well have been trying to stay low and lead with his shoulder, but this is the sort of hit officials have to flag and act strongly against. It did not look good, and it also knocked Pittman out of the game, as the Colts said he was being evaluated for a concussion.
A seven-year veteran, Kazee came into Saturday’s game with 56 total tackles in 13 games this season, having been pressed into extensive duty due to the Steelers’ injury issues.
