The Atlanta Falcons announced on Tuesday that they have signed Ridley and fellow running back Terron Ward to the active roster and have released linebacker AJ Hawk and guard Mike Person.

Ridley is still just 27 years old, but he’s been signed and released twice (by the Detroit Lions and the Indianapolis Colts) in the span of the last few months.
Atlanta is in need of some depth at the running back position with Tevin Coleman aggravating a hamstring injury in Sunday’s loss to the San Diego Chargers and looking unlikely for Week 8 against the Green Bay Packers, per Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Ridley hasn’t provided much cause for optimism since suffering a torn ACL and MCL in his right knee back in 2014. But he may now get a chance to spell Devonta Freeman in the Falcons backfield, provided that his career-long fumbling problem is finally behind him.
