Stevie Johnson Doesn’t Regret Gun Celebration; Plaxico Burress Not Offended
Bills receiver Stevie Johnson is not new to flamboyant celebrations in the end zone. Last year against the Bengals, he broke out a “Why So Serious” Batman shirt after a touchdown. On Sunday against the Jets, he mocked Plaxico Burress by pretending to shoot himself in the leg before flying around like a jet and crashing.
The Jets got revenge by coming back to win the game. Johnson also dropped a big pass in the final minute. Not only did he screw up on the final drive, but he’s also not apologizing for his celebration.
“I’m just being myself man I don’t regret being the real me 24/7 and you shouldn’t either. I don’t knock y’all for gettin at me like this. I’m a G haa,” he wrote on Twitter.
Johnson at least apologized to his teammates for getting penalized 15 yards for unsportsmanlike conduct.
Plaxico Burress, who caught a touchdown to tie the game after Stevie’s score, was cool about Stevie mocking him.
“For the record I talked to S. Johnson #13. It’s all love.”
Again, it’s much easier to forgive when your team gets the win.
