CJ Stroud is getting another weapon to throw to next season.
Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reported on Thursday that the Houston Texans have acquired wide receiver Ben Skowronek in a trade with the Los Angeles Rams. The Texans and Rams will be swapping 2026 draft picks in the sixth and seventh rounds as part of the deal.
The Rams originally intended to release the 26-year-old Skowronek but managed to find a trade partner for him before doing so.

Skowronek, a seventh-round pick himself in 2021, was a member of the Rams team that won Super Bowl LVI during his rookie campaign. He was mostly relegated to scraps in the dynamic Rams passing game but showed flashes of production, most notably in 2022 when Skowronek recorded 39 catches for 376 yards.
In Houston, Skowronek probably won’t have a much bigger role either with 1,000-yard WR Nico Collins, dynamic deep threat Tank Dell, and the huge-name receiver that the Texans acquired last month all ahead of him on the depth chart. But Skowronek should still be worth the low-risk swing as a new possession receiver option for Houston.
