Thomas Rawls expects to be ready for training camp
The Seattle Seahawks could be getting a nice boost with running back Thomas Rawls hoping to be ready for training camp.
Rawls, recovering from a fractured ankle, said at Richard Sherman’s charity softball game on Sunday that his rehab is going well and he expects to be good to go when camp opens.
“Rehab is going phenomenal,” Rawls said, via ESPN’s Sheil Kapadia. “Running, cutting, working hard, getting back out there. I’m looking forward to being out there the first week. Rehab has been going phenomenal this whole offseason. I don’t have a break because I’ve gotta work 10 times harder. So I’m excited to come back and fill that void in that backfield.”
Rawls added that he would “most definitely” be ready for the start of training camp, which runs contrary to the line peddled by the team, who wanted to ease him into things.
Rawls led the NFL with 5.65 yards per carry in his rookie season of 2015 before breaking his ankle late in the season. He’s part of the reason that the team seems pretty relaxed about Marshawn Lynch’s retirement.
