Todd Gurley does not seem thrilled about Monday Night Football appearance
The Los Angeles Rams will be opening their regular season during the later game of the traditional Monday Night Football doubleheader, and it doesn’t seem as though star running back Todd Gurley is particularly enamored by the idea.
The Rams will visit the Oakland Raiders for a game scheduled for 10:20 p.m. ET on Monday evening. Beyond the obvious recovery time concerns, Gurley is pretty convinced that nobody east of the Mississippi will be tuning in for that one.
Todd Gurley, not a huge fan of MNF: "I’m more worried about recovery time from Sunday to Sunday, not Monday to Sunday. But it will be cool. I mean, everybody on the East Coast is going to be asleep anyway, so just will be the West Coast people watching the game."

We know many players openly despise Thursday Night Football, but Monday has largely been insulated from similar criticisms owing to its tradition and the fact that recovery time isn’t as glaringly brief. Gurley, for one, doesn’t seem to be a huge fan.
