Tom Brady’s role in Raiders head coach hire has been revealed

The Las Vegas Raiders are working out a deal with Klint Kubiak to become their next head coach, and the Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator apparently landed a big advantage early in the process.

As expected, Raiders minority owner Tom Brady seemingly had a huge say in Kubiak’s hiring. ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported that Kubiak and Brady “very much hit it off” during Kubiak’s first interview with the team, with one source describing the two of them as “all ball.”

One thing I was told about Klint Kubiak and Las Vegas is that he and minority owner Tom Brady very much hit it off in the initial interview. "Both are all ball," a source said. He was able to create momentum with his initial interview and that carried into this week.

Needless to say, getting Brady onside early undoubtedly was a huge boost to Kubiak’s chances of landing the job. While it was said that Brady was already running everything when Pete Carroll was hired last season, the Kubiak hire seems like it has his fingerprints on it more than that one ever did.

Brady’s presence is probably a factor for Kubiak, since he seems to have taken the Raiders job instead of one other one. It certainly does not hurt that the Raiders also have the No. 1 overall pick in April’s NFL Draft.

For the Raiders to turn things around, they need to get this hire right. Being on the same page as Brady is a good start for Kubiak, but it remains to be seen if that will translate to results.
