Tom Brady was extremely critical of a question about whether his personal trainer may have had something to do with whatever led to teammate Julian Edelman’s suspension for a violation of the league’s drug policy.
Edelman, who is among the New England Patriots players who works with Brady’s trainer Alex Guerrero, will miss the first four games of the regular season after violating the league’s performance-enhancing drug policy. That led to some questions as to whether Guerrero was aware of anything that may have led to the suspension.
Speaking to reporters on Saturday, Brady found the assertion patently absurd.

Tom Brady was asked about Alex Guerrero being linked to Julian Edelman’s suspension. Brady: “No comment. That’s just ridiculous. I’m out. See you guys.” And then he walked off. pic.twitter.com/H11EKHpMvC

It is a fair question given Edelman and Guerrero worked together, but Brady is going to defend his friend. It’s not as if any of the other Patriots players Guerrero has worked with have been hit with suspensions.
Guerrero defended himself and shifted blame elsewhere when Edelman’s suspension was announced. There was not and still is not any evidence that actually links him to any wrongdoing or rule-breaking. That said, this is probably an annoying subject for Bill Belichick, who is often said to not be a huge fan of Guerrero, to have to deal with.
