Social media got extremely creative in the wake of Tua Tagovailoa’s latest poor showing.
Tagovailoa and the Miami Dolphins fell to 0-3 on the season with a 31-21 loss to the Buffalo Bills on “Thursday Night Football” this week. Miami hung tight with Buffalo for much of the game at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, N.Y. But with the Dolphins trailing 28-21 with three minutes left to go in the fourth quarter, Tagovailoa threw a brutal interception to seal his team’s fate.
On a 1st-and-10 play in the red zone, Tagovailoa got pressured and threw a floater right down the middle to Bills linebacker Terrel Bernard. Here is the video.

In response to the awful pick, social media bestowed a very unflattering nickname on the Dolphins quarterback — “Tua Turndaballova.” There were so many posts that “Tua Turndaballova” briefly became a top trending topic on X. Check it out.

Tagovailoa did managed to throw two touchdowns on the day. But he wasn’t taking many shots downfield and often checked the ball down to his running backs instead (as evidenced by his 22/34 passing line for just 146 yards).
The former Pro Bowler Tagovailoa is indeed extremely turnover-prone as well. He threw two interceptions and lost a fumble during Week 1 against Indianapolis and then had another late fourth-quarter interception in a one-score game against New England during Week 2.

Tagovailoa isn’t the only problem ailing the Dolphins right now (in particular, the Tyreek Hill situation is a major distraction for them at the moment). But with under 600 total passing yards and five touchdowns to five turnovers on the year now, Tagovailoa isn’t really helping matters for Miami either.
