Vic Fangio: Drew Lock activation is ‘fluid situation’
Drew Lock remains something of a wildcard for the Denver Broncos, and the team is being tight-lipped about his status.
Coach Vic Fangio had little to say about Lock on Monday, stating that the rookie quarterback’s situation is “fluid” and there was no word on when — or if — he would enter a backup role this season.
Vic Fangio, on @KOAColorado, was asked about the timeline for Drew Lock. Said they're "going to continue to get him his reps in practice" and that "it’s a fluid situation" in determining when/if he'll be ready to be the backup. They have until the first wk of Dec. to activate him

Lock suffered a thumb injury in preseason and is practicing with the team now. Given Denver’s quarterback issues, there was some thought that they would be more eager to get him up to game speed, but they’re taking it slow right now. Apparently, Brandon Allen has not played poorly enough to justify the team expediting Lock’s practice work.
One report indicated that the Broncos hoped to be able to start Lock toward the end of the season. It’s getting near the point where he’d have to be activated and backing up Allen pretty soon in order for that to happen.
