Video: Daniel Jeremiah, Chris Mortensen shared nice moment during NFL Draft
The 2020 NFL Draft was carried on multiple networks due to the extenuating circumstances surrounding the event, and that allowed for a heartwarming moment between Daniel Jeremiah and Chris Mortensen.
Jeremiah is a former NFL scout who now works for NFL Network, while ESPN’s Mortensen has been one of the most respected NFL insiders in the media industry for decades. During the seventh and final round of the draft on Saturday, Jeremiah spoke to Mortensen on the air and became emotional while explaining to viewers how much Mortensen has helped his career.
"I wouldn't be anywhere near where I am today if it wasn't for Chris Mortensen."

Jeremiah revealed that Mortensen flew him out to the NFL Draft about 20 years ago and gave him a job answering phones. Mortensen then helped Jeremiah land a job with ESPN, which jump-started Jeremiah’s media career.
Mortensen added some more context with a tweet, noting that he met Jeremiah through Jeremiah’s father David, who is a pastor.
DJ with a little exaggeration but I can tell you I wouldn’t be as strong in my faith without his Dad, @davidjeremiah, one of the great renown pastors whose Bible teaching was instrumental in leading me to the Lord. That’s how we met. I win on that one. https://t.co/H9ll5neLtP
