Vince Wilfork tells Tom Brady he is looking forward to hitting him

NBC flexed the game between the Patriots and Texans into the prime time slot Sunday evening, giving Tom Brady and Vince Wilfork the opportunity to renew acquaintances on the big stage.

Brady and Wilfork were, of course, teammates for 11 seasons. They played in memorable games together and won a couple of Super Bowls. The two also faced off in practice countless times, although Wilfork wasn’t able to hit Brady very often. Now, Wilfork can.

On Thursday, the above photo showing Brady and Wilfork sharing a special moment appeared on the Facebook page of Tom Brady. Included, is a caption requesting the veteran defensive tackle to “take it easy” on him this weekend. That may not quite be the case, as Wilfork responded jokingly that he can’t wait to hit see him.

Besides the game featuring a reunion of old buddies, it also has playoff implications. Considering the Texans were 3-5 at their bye week, I don’t think many expected this game to have the meaning it does with Houston now 6-6 and tied atop the AFC South with the Colts. So, there’s more reason to watch other than seeing if Vince Wilfork and Tom Brady share a moment after Wilfork puts Brady on his back.
