Report: Vontaze Burfict facing season-long suspension for latest cheap shot
Vontaze Burfict is facing yet another suspension after he was ejected for a helmet-to-helmet hit in Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts, and it is reportedly possible that the NFL could ban the veteran linebacker from playing for the rest of the season.
Burfict could be suspended for the entire 2019 season, ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reports.

That might sound severe, but Burfict has already been suspended for four games on two different occasions because of illegal hits. Based on that, you would expect his latest suspension to be at least eight games, and there are 12 remaining in the season. The NFL may decide to make an example out of him since he is a repeat offender.
Burfict appeared to launch himself at Colts tight end Jack Doyle when Doyle was essentially already on the ground. The hit drew a 15-yard penalty, and Burfict was ejected upon review.

The hit was similar to some of the dirty plays we have seen from Burfict in the past, yet he never seems to learn his lesson. Perhaps not being able to play again in 2019 will have an impact on him.
