Tennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis will sit out the team’s Week 7 game against Buffalo with a shoulder injury. However, the problem might linger beyond this week for the second-year quarterback.

Levis is dealing with a grade 2 AC sprain in his right throwing shoulder, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. That injury is typically viewed as a 4-to-5 week recovery, and Levis will be assessed on a week-to-week basis.

Keep in mind that Levis initially suffered the shoulder injury in Week 4, so this is not necessarily the beginning of that multi-week recovery timetable. The Titans had a Week 5 bye, but that was not quite enough to get the quarterback healthy again. Levis did play in Week 6 but was largely ineffective, going 16/27 for 95 yards with 1 touchdown and 1 interception in a 20-17 defeat against the Colts. He was a full practice participant this past Thursday, but not on Friday.

Levis has already been ruled out for Sunday, but the timeline beyond that is unclear. The Titans face a difficult trip to Detroit to face the Lions in Week 8, then return home to host the New England Patriots. At the very least, his status for the Detroit game has to be considered up in the air at this point.
