Zach Wilson responds to reports about his reluctance to play
New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson issued his first public response to reports that he was reluctant to take back the team’s starting job.
Wilson denied that there was any hesitation on his part about becoming the starting quarterback again, saying he would do “anything” to help his team.
Zach Wilson discusses the report that was made about him being reluctant to start a game:

“Absolutely not. I love the guys in this locker room and I would do anything,” Wilson said when asked about the report. “I think any time you have an opportunity to step on this field, you need to take advantage of it.”
Reports emerged Monday that the Jets wanted to return to Wilson as the team’s starting quarterback, but that Wilson was “reluctant” to take on the role. The Jets pushed back on the report, but The Athletic’s Dianna Russini stood by her reporting all the way.
Whatever Wilson’s stance was, he has now accepted the responsibility to start. It’s hard to imagine he will look any better now than he did for the first ten games of the season.
