Jordan Spieth had to make it up to a patron at The Masters on Friday after drilling them with his tee shot.
Spieth’s tee shot on the ninth hole at Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Ga. veered off course and into the gallery. However, he got a fortuitous bounce when his ball seemingly bounced off a patron’s hand and back onto the fairway.

Spieth later gave the patron an autographed glove for his troubles. It was probably a thank you as much as it was an apology, considering the fan inadvertently saved Spieth from a worse outcome.
Spieth wound up getting par on the hole, which no doubt would have been impossible if not for the fortunate deflection.
The 2015 Masters champion entered play Friday after breaking even with a 72 on the first day of the tournament. Longtime fans will know seeing him drill fans with shots is not necessarily anything new or unusual.
