Some troubling new details have emerged about Tiger Woods’ rollover car crash in Florida this week.
The professional golf icon Woods was arrested and charged with DUI after his crash in Jupiter Island, Fla. on Friday afternoon, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. According to the Martin County Sheriff in Florida, Woods was also charged with property damage and refusal to submit.
Woods, 50, was reported earlier in the day on Friday to have been involved in a wreck shortly after 2 PM local time on Jupiter Island. No details were immediately available about Woods’ condition after the crash.
A photo has also since emerged showing Woods’ vehicle laying on its side in the wake of the wreck.
The 15-time major winner Wood previously had a single-vehicle rollover crash in California back in 2021. Woods was later determined to have been traveling upwards of 75 mph (nearly twice the speed limit) and ended up crashing into a tree, suffering major lower-body injuries as a result.
Meanwhile, Woods is no stranger to legal trouble either. In 2017, he was already arrested for DUI in Jupiter Island, Fla. after falling asleep at the wheel (with a toxicology report later revealing that Woods had five substances in his system at the time of his arrest). Woods would end up pleading guilty to a reckless driving charge, receiving a year of probation, a small fine, and mandatory community service time.
Though he had not played competitively since 2024, Woods recently revealed to the public that he was attempting to return for The Masters next month. In the wake of his arrest this week though, a return to the golf course is now the least of Woods’ concerns.
