Caroline Wozniacki denies engagement rumor after Twitter prank
Caroline Wozniacki and Rory McIlroy are not engaged, despite what one prankster led many to believe.
Sascha Bajin, who is the hitting partner for Serena Williams and frequently interacts with Wozniacki over Twitter, decided to play a little joke on Monday.
Can’t believe you started rumors like that! @bigsascha .. Not engaged yet, but you’ll be the first to know if we do!;) hehe

USA Today’s Chris Chase says journalists were scrambling to confirm the rumor after Bajin’s original tweet. As seen in the Twitter reply above, Wozniacki killed the rumor with her response a few hours later.
The two continued to banter over Twitter, and even Victoria Azarenka chimed in:
@carowozniacki @bigsascha a first one? What? Is Sascha gonna be a maid of honor? Thats the reason? Lol

Sascha came back at Wozniacki to say “I already bought a wedding gift… And you know I would never start rumors. Some birdie told me a lie I guess. Lol”
It appears that the tweet from Bajin was a joke in response to a previous prank Wozniacki may have played on him. Either way, Woz says she plans to get him back.
All Twitter jokes and rumors aside, it wouldn’t be too surprising to hear that the two were engaged at some point in the future. Wozniacki and McIlroy have been dating since at least last July, and all indications are that they are as close as ever.
