Dustin Johnson is one of the more popular players on the PGA Tour. If the average girl dated the 29-year-old, she would probably have to get used to being in the spotlight all the time and having cameras follow her around. Since Johnson dates Paulina Gretzky, it’s pretty much the other way around.
Paulina is a gossip magazine and paparazzi favorite, which has taken some getting used to for Johnson over the past year.
“It’s not weird to me,” Johnson told the National Post . “I enjoy it. You’ve just got to be careful about what you’re doing. There’s always somebody taking a picture.”
It may not be weird, but Johnson admits he is not really accustomed to it just yet.
“They’re not too bad,” he said. “But, no, I mean, I’m not used to worrying about people taking pictures of me.”
For the most part, Johnson and Gretzky don’t get caught doing anything controversial or out of the ordinary. We like to gawk at pictures of Paulina dressed as St. Pauli Girl or partying with Dustin on a boat, but it’s not like they put themselves in situations where the PGA is going to be contacting Johnson about his behavior.
In addition, Johnson seems to have a solid relationship with Paulina’s father Wayne Gretzky, who many consider to be the greatest hockey player of all time.
“We play a lot of golf together, actually,” Johnson said. “He’s a fairly decent golfer. But yeah, I give him strokes.”
If Johnson has gotten to a place where he can get away with borderline criticizing his girlfriend’s father’s golf game, he’s doing pretty well for himself.
