A waitress at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas complains that boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. and his entourage stiffed her for a tip after partying there on Sunday, the day after Floyd’s victory over Marcos Maidana at the MGM.
According to TMZ, the waitress, Nik Nguyen, says Mayweather and about 150 people in his party — including actor Jamie Foxx — ordered just over $25,000 worth of goodies and did not leave her a tip. Keep in mind that the Hard Rock comped them what they ordered, which included:
5 bottles of Patron – $2,375
3 Grey Goose – $1,425
6 bottles of Ciroc – $2,850
20 bottles of Luc champagne – $11,500
1 6-liter bottle of Luc – $6,500
200 chicken wings – $600
1 fruit platter – $55
The total for the tab was $25,305.
Even if you get comped your bill, you should still tip your server. Everyone knows that.
We’ll go ahead and give Floyd and his entourage the benefit of the doubt here and figure not leaving a tip was just an oversight. Maybe when you have 150 people, they all think someone else will take care of it. Then again, when your nickname is “Money” and you own a $50,000 diamond-encrusted iPod, you shouldn’t be shy about sharing your dough.
