A goal by Greg McKegg stood following a review in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals between the Carolina Hurricanes and Boston Bruins on Thursday night.

McKegg scored in the second period to make it 2-1 Carolina. He made contact with Bruins goalie Tuukka Rask on the play, so the league reviewed to see whether there was interference or if the goal was dislodged before the puck crossed.

Replay showed that the puck was already going in/appeared to already be in before McKegg’s contact with Rask, which is why the goal stood.

Carolina is looking to make it seven straight wins in the postseason. They won two in a row to close their series with the Capitals in the first round and then swept the Islanders in the second. Boston is looking to make it four in a row as they won three straight to defeat Columbus in six games in the second round.
