Joffrey Lupul ticked at TSN for allowing adultery tweet on air
Toronto Maple Leafs winger Joffrey Lupul went off on TSN Monday after they allowed a tweet about him sleeping with a teammate’s wife on air during their coverage of the trade deadline.
The tweet was a silly one sent by a fan about Lupul supposedly having sex with Dion Phaneuf’s wife, actress Elisha Cuthbert.
The tweet made it on air because it was hashtagged with TSN’s “TradeCentre” request. The person who sent the tweet as a joke was mortified Monday morning and wanted to make it clear that it was just a joke. He also blamed TSN for not filtering the tweet and allowing it to make it on air.
Whatever the case, Lupul was not happy:
TSN just a poor mans TMZ. Embarrassing.

At least TSN apologized for the poor filtering job:
“Earlier today, an inappropriate and disrespectful tweet was erroneously aired. As soon as it was flagged, we immediately removed it. We’ve reached out to the Toronto Maple Leafs organization and all those impacted to extend our sincerest apologies for our error. It should have never, ever gone to air.”
Whether it’s a tweet making it on air or an accusation of an athlete sleeping with a teammate’s wife, these sorts of thing happens all the time. Lupul should chill out.
