Vancouver to Reignite Olympic Cauldron in Support of Canucks
Do you think the people of Vancouver like hockey? Maybe just a little bit. When the Canadian national team won the gold medal in hockey at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, none of us were surprised. The United States put up a fight, but the Canadians seemed destined to win on their home soil. As Puck Daddy pointed out on Sunday, British Columbia Premier Christy Clark is looking to inject some of that magic into the Canucks before Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals.
Two hours before the puck drops on Monday in Boston, the Olympic cauldron that was built for the 2010 Winter Games will be reignited as a show of support for the Canucks. Vancouver currently holds a 2-0 series lead over the Bruins after two heartbreaking losses for Boston to begin the series. A win on Monday would all but bring the Cup to Vancouver. Whether you’re a Vancouver fan or not, you have to admit the gesture is pretty cool.
