According to MMA Fighting, this fight occurred between Evilasio Silva (8-12) and Claudinei Angelo (4-5) at JF Fight Evolution in Juiz de Fora, Brazil, on Oct. 5.
Angelo supposedly was controlling the action in the fight when his mouthpiece came out. He supposedly spit it out again to recover from punches. The referee wouldn’t stop the fight, so Angelo asked for a timeout. When it wasn’t granted, he decided to peace out and hopped the cage fence.
Was there something else going on that we didn’t see? There has to be more context to this, because I can’t understand why someone would do that. I mean Roberto Durant’s “no mas” thinks that was bad. Andrew Golota bailing against Mike Tyson agrees that was embarrassing. Weird.
