The main event at Bellator 138 on Friday night didn’t last very long, but it was as thrilling of a fight as anyone could have asked for. It also came down to whose strength as a fighter would prevail: Ken Shamrock’s submission game, or Kimbo Slice’s boxing ability. It turns out that both were successful, though Slice came out on top.
When the fight started, Shamrock immediately went for a takedown against Kimbo and his gameplan of trying to take the fight to the ground was clear. He eventually got things to the ground and had a rear mount on Slice, and he was trying for the rear naked choke. He was trying hard to submit Kimbo, but the giant would not tap out.
Slice managed to break out of the choke hold and stood the fight back up. The two traded two punches, and then Kimbo landed one massive one that knocked Shamrock to the ground, leading referee Big John McCarthy to call the fight in the first round by TKO.
