Lyoto Machida beats Chael Sonnen with two big flying knees
Lyoto Machida beat Chael Sonnen via second-round TKO during their fight at Bellator 222 on Friday night at Madison Square Garden in New York.
Machida knocked Sonnen to the ground in the first round with a big flying knee and dominated him the rest of the round. He caught him again with a flying knee in the second that effectively ended the fight.

The official time of the stoppage was 22 seconds into the second round.
The win marked Machida’s fourth in a row and makes him 26-8 in his career. Sonnen’s defeat ended his fifth fight with Bellator. He went 2-3 during his five-fight deal and announced after his loss that he was retiring.
