The officials working Friday’s Olympic women’s soccer quarterfinal match between Sweden and the United States appeared to rob Sweden of a goal late in extra time with an offside call.
Lotta Schelin scored a goal toward the end of the second extra time period that was disallowed when the flag went up. If you freeze the play, it looked like she was well onside. The photo on the right below tells the story:

Fortunately for Sweden, they ended up beating the U.S. in penalty kicks. It was the first time in Olympic history the U.S. women’s team did not advance to the semifinals. What an upset.
