NFL Picks Against the Spread Week 15 – Doc’s Selections

The Doc was strong against ATS and straight up with his picks in Week 14. It’s two weeks in a row of strong picks, though the Top 3 picks slid. For whatever reason, the Doc likes many road teams this week, and a lot of underdogs. Below are the Doc’s picks, with analysis of the Top 3 selections under the chart.

NFL PICKS WEEK 15
(ATS = Against the Spread, SU = Straight Up)

The Colts offense is somewhat more effective under Dan Orlovsky, but they’re still not very good. We’re picking against them and hoping the Titans will win the game handily. Remember, Indy didn’t cover until scoring on the last play of the game against Baltimore. They’re pretty sad offensively. We’re hoping the trend continues for another game. It would also be a nice bonus if Jake Locker got into the game — Tennessee’s offense has performed nicely with him in the game.

The Saints covered last week for the Doc’s Top 3, and they have been a Doc favorite most of the season. Minnesota’s pass defense is a joke. New Orleans should have no problem tearing them apart, especially playing indoors. The Saints don’t fare as well on the road as they do at home, but this is just too nice of a matchup for them. The one good thing for Minnesota is that Adrian Peterson will be back, but that doesn’t have the Doc too worried.

The Doc came close to picking the Panthers to win this game straight up. Carolina has looked pretty good the past two weeks, and their offense is tough to stop. They should put up points even against Houston’s strong defense. T.J. Yates put together a fantastic fourth-quarter drive to beat the Bengals, and he’s fairly decent, but the Panthers should keep pace.
