NFL picks Week 9 against the spread – Doc’s picks

The best part about having so many NFL teams on byes this week is there are fewer chances for us pick games wrong this week. That’s always a good thing, right?

Well after two bad weeks in a row, it’s time for a bounce-back week. We’re going to get it this time. Analysis of the top 3 is below.

NFL PICKS WEEK 9
(ATS = Against the Spread, SU = Straight Up)

The Dallas Cowboys were the huge story all week after blowing last weekend’s game against the Detroit Lions and having all the Dez Bryant drama blow up. That means the Doc thinks they will come together this week for an impressive performance. And it’s always easier when they’re at home and facing a team that’s looked as poor as the Vikings have this season. Minnesota is one of the worst defenses against the pass this season, having allowed 16 touchdowns through the air. Watch Tony Romo torch them.

Jason Campbell looked great for the Cleveland Browns last weekend against KC, but can he do it two weeks in a row? The Doc says no. Baltimore is coming off two losses in a row and just had a bye to set things straight. Plus, Ray Rice should be looking like his old self after having the extra week off. Watch him break a big play and the Ravens get back on track with a good road win over the Browns.

The Packers looked great against the Vikings last weekend and should look good again against a banged up Chicago Bears team. The Doc doesn’t think the Bears will be packing it in by any stretch. Josh McCown isn’t great, but he’s been a backup in the league for a long time because he can sling it a little. He looked good coming in for Jay Cutler two weeks ago against Washington. But we’re expecting the Packers to put up big numbers against a Bears defense hampered by multiple injuries and don’t think Chicago can keep up.
