NFL Week 4 expert picks against the spread – Del’s picks

You hear that? That’s the sound of Del finally arriving for the 2014 NFL season. After two abysmal weeks to start off the year, Del finally got back on track last week by going 10-6 against the spread. More importantly, we were a perfect 3-0 in locks of the week and Doc and Del were 5-1 combined. That’s going to make you money no matter how you cut it.

Week 4 features the first round of byes, so there are less games to pick. That means we have to be even more accurate, because wins will be tougher to come by. There are also some really tough spreads this week, so we’ve done our best to analyze the games for you. Here are Del’s Week 4 NFL Picks, with analysis of this week’s locks after the chart. Check back later in the week for Doc Brown’s picks.

Week 4 Doc

Despite a poor showing by the Packers last week, I think they can pull off a win on the road against a Bears defense that is missing Charles Tillman and could be without starting safety Chris Conte. Simply put, the Packers need this game more. After a tough game against the Lions in which their offense struggled mightily, the Packers have fallen to 1-2. The Bears, on the other hand, have won back-to-back road games in primetime. While that’s an impressive feat, I’m banking on fatigue playing a factor against a Green Bay offense that should be much more explosive going forward.

I’m also taking the Colts laying 7.5 at home this week. Andrew Luck and company appear to be clicking on offense, and they made easy work of the Jaguars on the road. The Titans, on the other hand, were destroyed in Cincinnati and could be without starting quarterback Jack Locker. Tennessee’s offense, which has yet to score more than 10 points in a game this season, can’t afford any more setbacks. They also can’t seem to stop the run. This game has blowout written all over it.
