Alvin Jones of Trinidad & Tobago scored one better goals of World Cup qualifying against the U.S. men’s national team in a crucial match.
The U.S. came into Tuesday’s game knowing they could clinch a spot in next year’s World Cup. A win would guarantee their inclusion. A draw could yield the same result, but the U.S. would need other factors to go their way.
At halftime, neither scenario looked likely. Trinidad & Tobago took a 1-0 lead in the 17th minute on an own goal by Omar Gonzalez. In the 37th minute, Alvin Jones unleashed this incredible shot that rendered Tim Howard essentially useless. Take a look below.

It was noted on the broadcast that was Jones’ first ever goal for Trinidad & Tobago. He may very well not score a better one. Wow.
