Christian Pulisic and Sydney Sweeney are apparently not an item.
The U.S. men’s national soccer team star Pulisic, 27, was the subject of a big viral rumor this weekend linking him romantically to the famous actress Sweeney, 28. It appears that the claim originated from a verified X account based in Europe and spread like wildfire online from there.
The rumor got so out of hand that Pulisic himself issued a response on Sunday. Pulisic commented on an Instagram post about the Sweeney dating claim and called it “fake news.”
“Fake news guys,” Pulisic wrote. “let’s stop with the silly rumor.”

Pulisic also took to his Instagram Story with another sharp message about the situation.
“Also please stop with the made up stories about my personal life,” Pulisic captioned his Instagram Story post. “Need to hold sources accountable it can affect people’s lives.”

Currently playing at the club level for Italian soccer giant AC Milan, the talented winger Pulisic is also the current face of the USMNT. With the United States set to host the 2026 World Cup this summer (along with neighbors Canada and Mexico), Pulisic’s profile should be especially high in the coming months.
As for the “Euphoria” star Sweeney, she is one of the most famous actresses on the planet right now and is slowly increasing her presence in the sports world as well. Sweeney recently starred as former pro boxer Christy Martin in the 2025 film “Christy” and even drew rave reviews with a surprise cameo during the 2025 MLB World Series.
