Albania supporters tried to hit Italians where it hurts before the Euro 2024 soccer clash between their two countries.
A video on X recently went viral showing a heated encounter between a horde of Albanians and a rival group of Italians.
The clip showed an Italian fan on his knees begging the Albanians to stop what they were doing. It wasn’t clear at first what exactly the Italians were objecting to.

But rather than it being something more sinister, the Albanians were simply snapping a pack of spaghetti in half. The fan then threw the broken bits into the air.
Albanians hit the Italians where it hurts — the latter’s love of pasta. It’s a cardinal rule for Italians never to snap pasta in half, which is a practice some people use to make it easier to fit the noodles into a boiling pot.
The Italians did get the last laugh as their national team beat Albania 2-1 to open their Euro 2024 campaign. The Azzurri overcame an opening-minute goal from Albania’s Nedim Bajrami to emerge victorious at BVB Stadion Dortmund in Dortmund, Germany.
The pasta gods clearly didn’t appreciate the Albanians’ sacrilegious culinary act.
